COOKING EXPERT'S AIR FRYER HACK TO MAKE JACKET POTATOES 'PERFECTLY FLUFFY'

Jacket potatoes can take over an hour to cook thoroughly in the oven - and sometimes they don't even achieve that desired crispiness.

However, one culinary expert suggests using an air fryer to strike the perfect balance between fluffy and crunchy when cooking spuds. Detoxinista, a YouTube channel host, claims to have devised a foolproof method that delivers every time. She stated: "Air Fryer Baked Potatoes turn out perfectly fluffy on the inside, with a crispy outer skin."

Her top tip is to carefully consider the size of the potato to ensure no cooking time is wasted. In a video shared with her 73,000+ subscribers, she explained: "As a general rule, a potato that weighs eight ounces or less will cook in 45 minutes at 205C. A potato that weighs nine to 16 ounces will cook for about one hour.

"And if you're cooking a particularly small potato that weighs six ounces or less, it might be done in just 30 minutes." Besides some precise timing calculations, her method is straightforward. To get a tantalisingly crispy skin, preheat the air fryer to 205C-210C before preparing the potatoes.

Rinse the potatoes under running water, then dry them with a clean towel to eliminate any remaining moisture. Finally, use a fork to poke a few holes in each one to prevent them from bursting as they heat up.

Olive oil is key to achieving that perfect texture, so make sure you drizzle each potato with it and give them a good rub to ensure complete coverage.

After prepping each spud, sprinkle them with salt for that "delicious" taste once they're cooked, as recommended by the YouTube sensation.

Then pop your potatoes into the hot air fryer, cooking them based on their weight. The culinary whizz shared: "What I love about this cooking method is you don't have to wrap the potatoes in foil."

She pointed out that wrapping them can result in a "soggy" outer skin instead of a crispy one, reports the Express. The end result? Each potato boasted a fluffy interior with a beautifully deep brown, crunchy exterior.
